Use this to build a page for him as trial for making Character page.
Foreign merch is allowed if it is a Japanese license.
I know there's issues with Chinese items being allowed here, but I'm not really up to date on it. Slayers shouldn't have this kind of issue.
You can contact the page creator, but I usually just make an alert to request it being undraft. You should scan or photograph the relevant pages and upload them. Also try to find old online back catalogues for JP items.
noctisity5 dag(en) geleden#105835873Just a small clarification here for MiniMoonMom's sake, MFC has different guidelines for Figures, Goods, and Media. The following entries are allowed in the database:
  • Figures - Must have a Japanese origin OR manufacturer
  • Goods - Must have a Japanese origin
  • Media - Must have a Japanese release

If the character has multiple names/spellings that he's officially listed under, you can put it under Alias when you create the character entry.
As for fixing older entries, as nammy mentioned, you can contact the person who originally created the entry or just Report it. If you are reporting multiple entries for similar issues (ex: you want to update the release date or price of a set of items), lump all those concerns into a single report (ex: alert/73634).
I'm not familiar with Slayers' or Sailor Moon's various spin-offs, but if the item is from a non-Japanese source, then you can't add it. For example, even though the movie Detective Pikachu (ENTRY #177009) is based on the Japanese game (ENTRY #182250), MFC doesn't allow for any of its Goods to be added since the movie is American-made. The only reason it has a couple items now is because they are tied to the trading card game (Japanese origin).

Thank you both so much! This helps a lot! I’m sure I’ll have more questions, but thank you all for all your help!

MiniMoonMom5 dag(en) geleden#105812237View spoilerHide spoiler1. Yes. I have probably one of the largest Slayers collections in my part of the world, so I haven’t even scratched the surface of it yet. But I’m not adding characters just to add characters. A particular character only shows up for one season, but was important to the plot, so he got a bunch of merchandise. Sadly his name is “Valgarv” which is inconsistently spelled on his merch, so I will have to dig around to see if I can find an official Japanese spelling (Slayers loved using English on merch during his season).
Your statements bring up another good question. I was under the impression that the site only listed non-US merch. Is that the case? I ask because I see an entry for Sailor Moon Moon Cycle, which I thought was non-Japanese? I need to know so that I know if I should be adding my US Slayers stuff.
And that’s my other question. Since I have some of the old catalogs that a lot of Slayers stuff was in, I can add a ton of info to existing “locked” items. Who can I contact about updating that stuff?

nammy5 dag(en) geleden#1058120721. Is there a guide on how to add characters to the database? I’d like to add some keychains for a character, but don’t wanna muff anything up.
When you go to add a Character to an entry, if it doesn't come up in search you can create a new entry for them. Which Series are you adding stuff from? Still Slayers?

There should be a button in the top right corner or something, if you're on computer.

I guess you could make a page and ask us to look it over. I usually copy bio information from Wikipedia or a fan Wiki. I'm not really sure what to suggest since they're less important than item entries IMO.
I've been trying to work on Sailormoon entries, but since I don't have permissions it's a slog ;_;

2. At what point should an entry move from draft to official? I’ve added some entries that have more information than several “official” entries, but I didn’t switch them over because I’m a newbie and I didn’t want to muff stuff up.

Until you are more familiar, I wouldn't undraft. It's basically just "locking" an entry from further edits. If it's media, and you have ISBN/whatever and publication date, it's usually OK to lock. But I'm not someone who adds a lot of media entries, just some stuff I own and old SM stuff.

3. What do I do about alerts? Recently, I accidentally made a few accidental entries due to MFC’s connection instability. I got some alerts (which have since been taken care of) and I messaged the person who sent them, but that obviously wasn’t the right answer.

If you accidentally make an entry, you can alert it to request deletion. If there's a better way, I don't know it.
You won't get in trouble or anything, unless it's consistent abuse of the feature (I assume). I make mistakes and I've been doing this for years.

4. How do I join this club? I figure I will still need lots of help in the future and I don’t want to clog up this front page all the time.

This group is usually dead, I doubt anyone minds you asking in comments. There should be a button in the top right corner or something, if you're on computer.

Loria9 dag(en) geleden#105656655Hmm. I'd like to add booth.pm/ja/ite... into the database but I'm not sure if I should separate the four keyholders into four different entries. Or should I just need to add one entry instead? 'cause they are sold together.
