Maakie (1 maand(en) geleden) #53310095Yeah, there are quite a lot of them in this blog actually! The 2 Vamp! covers, the 2 Baccano! covers and the 2 Naruto covers. :)
I have only seen this doujin for sale once and that's when I picked it up. It seems a bit rare, just like most Baccano! doujin. Keep an eye out on Suruga-Ya and Yahoo! auctions, I wish you good luck in getting it! :)

I’ll keep that in mind! Thank you~ <3

victorviper (1 maand(en) geleden) #53249322Mana Khemia is kind of the forgotten entry these days in the Atelier Series. Mana Khemia and its sequel got released in the last days of the PS2, and they were sandwiched in between the popular Atelier Iris trilogy and the Arland games.
I really liked both games, as the combat is lively and the alchemy school setting is kind of a change of pace for the series. Mana Khemia 2 also features the option of playing as two different protagonists with slightly different character-specific scenes.
If you go the PSP route, just be advised that the reviews for Mana Khemia on the PSP skewed negative because apparently the load times are kind of horrific. I played it on the PS2, so I can't say if this was just gamers overreacting as they are known to do, or if the load times really hamper the game experience.

Yeah, I have multiple friends quite heavily into the Atelier series, including the older installments, but none of them ever told me about Mana Khemia! I guess it was a forgotten (spin-off?) game while people were focussing on the main series? I'll ask a few of them soon if they even know the game, haha!

Going to an alchemy school and having completely different combat, while it matches in the same universe indeed sounds like a nice idea~

Your reply made me look into the PSP version and yikes, not only slow loading times (a common thing for many PSP games unfortunately), but apparently also a lot of framerate problems. Slow loading times I can live with (mostly), but if there are framerate issues when you have action scenes going on, it's a no. Unfortunately I don't have a working PS2 right now. :/ Welp, I guess the game will get on a list to 'maybe buy someday' then!

Maakie (1 maand(en) geleden) #53205814I have not heard of Mana Khemia before, but I see that the game also got an PSP release, so I'm going to look out for that one. :) Thanks for the tip!

victorviper (1 maand(en) geleden) #53200472I am not that well known with the older installments myself as I personally only started playing this franchise from the PS3-era, but the character designs are always very good.
My first introduction to the Atelier games was Atelier Iris and Mana Khemia on the PS2. The former game is now kind of dated, but the Mana Khemia games have aged surprisingly well; if you ever feel like doing some old-school gaming and taking a deep dive into the series' past, those games might be a good ones at which to look.
Also, the SW shirt ITEM #770959 is a great find. It's always nice to see Michiko get some merchandise love :).

Yeah, I'm really happy about the artwork on that shirt and getting the shirt in general! I have already been planning to make itabags for a while and wonder if I can maybe pull together one with Michiko and Yoshika together. Yoshika should be no problem, but it would be nice to have a few Michiko items on there too, haha! And then I would wear that t-shirt together with the bag. :)
