October 2018 LootOctober 2018 Loot

Hey everyone, this is my first post here. I’ve been collecting for a little over a year and already have enough figures to fill four Detolfs and then some. Relatively speaking, this month is a little light. I did get my hands on four garage kits, but I technically ordered them back in September.

As you read through this post, you’ll notice that just about everything in it is related to Kancolle. That’s partly because some of my preorders got delayed, and partly because I just recently got actually interested in it.

As a short backstory, I had tried the browser game a few years ago, but never really got into it. I love the character designs but thought the figures were on the pricey side for a series that I wasn’t personally interested in. However, I decided to try the arcade version of the game while I was in Tokyo over the summer. I quickly got hooked on that and acquired many, many cards during my trip. When I got back home I started looking at figures (and other merchandise) and here we are.

So without further ado, here’s the first figure. It’s the destroyer Amatsukaze by Funny Knights. (ITEM #216505)
The wooden bases for this line are really nice, even if they are a bit plain. I apologize in advance for the photo quality. The lighting isn't that great and it's compounded by the fact that my phone's camera isn't exactly top of the line.

Up next is the Wonder Festival 2015 limited edition of Kaga also by Funny Knights. (ITEM #325527) I was a little worried about picking this one up because AmiAmi listed it as B/B. The fact that it is harder to find and the price was excellent made me decide to take a chance and it was well worth it. All the parts looked to be in perfect condition and there were no blemishes as far as I could tell.

For the last of the scales, we have Hayasui by, you guessed it, Funny Knights. (ITEM #598013) This one is also an event limited edition from Wonder Festival 2017.

Here's one of all of them together.

After I got back from my Japan trip in September, I found some garage kits I was interested in. Mainly because virtually no figures exist of the Shiratsuyu line outside of Shigure and Yuudachi. I don’t know if I’m going to try putting these together myself. I’ve never put together a garage kit before. So far, I’ve got Shiratsuyu (ITEM #547005), Shigure (ITEM #375674), and Yuudachi (ITEM #375672). Finally, I got one more garage kit for Hatsuzuki (ITEM #548114). Until I get these put together, I have just the boxes to look at.

I'll finish things up with a couple of non-figure items.

First up, the Taihou long tapestry from Ensky. (ITEM #312792)

I really like this series and have decided to collect as many of them as I possibly can. Some of them are very hard to find.

An Umamusume tapestry.

And last but not least, the long awaited Spice and Wolf necktie featuring Holo.

Well that's everything from October. I have quite a few things ordered for both November and December but will be away from home until the end of December. I hope to make another post then but if this one is any indication, that one will take me a lot longer to put together.

Thanks for reading!

Marshmallowpie (5 dag(en) geleden) #43269283Nice loot! I feel like Kancolle has lost a lot of popularity and doesn't get quite as many items as it used to, so it's nice to see a lot of it here. I know what you mean on the rarity of some of those long tapestries... not preordering Z1 is a big regret for me.

Thanks. Yeah that's true, I kind of missed the craze. Who knows though. With the new browser updates, there may be renewed interest in it. There's certainly no shortage of collaborations in Japan.

I think I've resigned myself to not getting a lot of the tapestries that I want. I was lucky enough to score the Hatsuzuki one sealed after several hours of searching, but haven't seen much of anything else over the last couple of months outside of the ones that are readily available. Guess I'll have to keep searching.
