I'm sure most people here know what prize figures are so I'll make this as short as possible. Basically they are cheap figures around 1/8 to 1/10 scale which usually sell for around $20 to $50 (or sometimes even more depending on the type). The quality could sometimes rival that of a mediocre scale figure or sometimes it can look worse than Bandai figures. So now that that's out of the way let's get unto the poll. Unofficially people tend to think Alter is the best manufacturer for scales so let's see who's the best or most Favorited for prize figure manufacturers. I only know a handful of these companies so please feel free to add to the list if I have missed any.

Quality can vary wildly just between figure of the same line. I have a lot of Banpresto items, and love the scultures line. However, after Banpresto launches a line, some of the quality is AMAZING for the first few releases, then the quality drops HARD. Fully painted, beautifully finished -> colored plastic -> hollow plastic. It also depends on the artist as well, and their grasp of production and parts, mold angles etc.

Banpresto/Sega is kind of a hit or miss with me, some of them turned out kind of disappointing

Taito and Furyu are cool though

Banpresto's EXQ line is easily the best we have for prize figures nowadays, but their other stuff may be not so good (I'm not too fond of their Sailor Moon prizes, for example)

Taito and Furyu are kind of hit or miss. Though Furyu's FGO line definitely has the best Fate prize figures, and their Jeanne is way better than the overpriced Banpresto Jeanne.

Sega, it depends on the line. PM Premium is SUPER nice, but their SPM line tends to be just OK, I guess.

Tough choice, but had to go with Sega bc stuff I own from them is amazing quality! Banpresto is right up there too! Taito is getting really good and FuRyu is interesting with their new scale line, I'd like to see how those turn out.

Going by the prize figures I own as of now.

ITEM #111640
ITEM #246281
ITEM #583287

The quality has gone up quite a bit for them through the years.

ITEM #92495
ITEM #99013
ITEM #124157
ITEM #118121

Sega's quality is very nice, even for their older prize figures, though some people might not like the Haganai ones, but I think they're cute.

Overall I would have to give the best quality to Banpresto. There Tiger and Bunny figures, though older are still fantastic, and the detail on Madoka alone is scale worthy. :D

So far, Sega hasn't failed me. This figure ITEM #672592 and this figure ITEM #677854 are all really high quality, even if their poses aren't anything special. They don't have any paint flaws that I saw. ITEM #401020 This also looks good, despite being a bit boring, pose wise.
They never allow preorders, but they seem to be worth buying in the aftermarket, as the sculpt seems to be better.

Taito is hit or miss. This Miku looks amazing: ITEM #676314, but their Mordred was bad. She had pretty bad paint flaws.ITEM #621954. And her face looks weird.

Banpresto has been awesome so far, but I only have one figure from them:
ITEM #596984

And FuRyu is probably my least favorite. Sure, their Jeanne prize looks good (ITEM #401142), as does their Scathach. ITEM #641041, but I haven't received any others that look good. This Jeanne is really bad: ITEM #669235

All of this doesn't count older prize figures, of course, which almost all look pretty bad. But lately, Sega wins for me, for sure!

Sega is the best for sure! ITEM #236454 ITEM #155931 ITEM #677851 ITEM #514126 ITEM #440653 are some of the best looking figures that I own even though I have stuff from alter/good smile/kotobukiya etc. They never fail for me!

btw I HATE furyu. just saying.

I try and stay away from older prize figures (older than 5 years) but Banpresto has been KILLING IT lately. I've actually sold off some scales and replaced them with Banpresto figures. Sega and the others are also improving quite a bit as of late. I would not be shocked if in the not too distant future we see more "mainstay" manufacturers get into the prize game since the bang for buck is incredible

Taito is really killing it with the Mikus.

I would say that your price range is a bit off, I've seen prize figures going as low as 200 yen and the average one is about 1,000 yen ($10)

I'm a prize figure fan myself but I don't particularly have a favourite company. Maybe I would say Banpresto, FuRyu or Taito.
