Anyone live in Japan that can help me?Anyone live in Japan that can help me?

This isn't really figure related. But I'm at a loss. A friend and I went to Japan for 2 weeks. Stayed in Akihabara, went to WonderFest, checked out all the fun anime shops and stores, climbed Mt. Fuji, ate the amazing food. Was fun.

I found a Tokyo Marui shop among all the interesting floors. I bought a replica Desert Eagle airsoft gun, like a BB gun. It was so nice!! I was so excited!! The price was amazing, like 3 times cheaper than what I could get one for here. So on the last day in Japan, I got it packaged up in a box, went down to the UDEX building and sent it to my address here in Canada with EMS at the Japan Post office.

Well, it turns out that it was never shipped. The tracking says return to sender, which is actually my address because they told me to put my Canadian address in the From field. Then the next day it says "Will deliver to nearest Post Office or store" and the "office" is KANDA. That was the 5th. I tried calling but I can't speak really any good Japanese. The English phone number says "you cannot call from overseas" which I already tried and of course I can't call from Canada. Arrrgh!

So my parcel is sitting there, after paying 4000 YEN to have it shipped. They asked me if it had "gas" or "batteries" and I put no gas or batteries on the description. But now I'm not sure as it might have had batteries? EMS is air shipped so I know they are more concerned with that stuff when it's air shipped. I'd be happy if they just ship it ground/water SAL and I'd just get it a month or 2 later.

I just need a huge favor. I don't know anyone here that speaks fluent Japanese, and I don't know anyone in Japan. Could someone that is staying in Japan call Japan Post and find out what happened to my parcel? My EMS tracking number is EG330672459JP, the English phone number is 0570-046-111 and the Japanese one is 0120-5931-55.

I could also change the destination to a US address if that works better too.

I will pay you whatever it costs to have it re-shipped or whatever you want!

Please help someone!! :(

Close friend of mine was in a similar situation a while back and upon going through Canada's Border Service Agency website it's pretty stiff if you're trying to import any sort of these things into Canada.
There's quite a bit of other things that's also banned like obscene figures (thinking of Native) and loli-material. As close as we are to the Americans, some of the laws are worlds apart.
Best of luck to the OP. I'd suggest you contact a forwarding service and perhaps if you pay them a fee they will be able to assist you.

Thing that's weird is that it didn't even leave Japan. So do they know already it won't be accepted in Canada so they don't even try shipping it out? Also, I should've had it delivered it to a US address and then smuggle it across.

Maybe they are banned but I've brought across lots of Native figures and loli figures without issues.

Where could I contact a forwarding service? Know of any?

What a complicated situation. I hope you didn't pay too much for the gun, though judging by your 4000 yen shipping I assume it's a lot. Hopefully a Japanese member can help you

Not a lot, $135 about. Which is much lower than the $370 it would cost here, plus nobody has stock here anyways.

gundamsone (4 jaar geleden) #2313726I can't contribute much to your problem but as far as i'm aware BB guns are banned from import to Canada and few other countries such as the UK.
Even if Japan Post does send it, there's a very high chance CBSA will confiscate and destroy your package unless you got the license for it?
In addition, as far as i'm aware of only the original sender can resolve the problem. If they can't send it they'll refund you back your money but your're no longer in Japan so as ugly as it sounds...you may be out of luck on this one.

I do have a US address I could have it shipped to. I'm sure it's fine importing then to the US. I'm just confused why their English line can't be called from overseas. Your think lots of foreigners would ship stuff before they leave.

I'm sure someone could call the Japanese line from overseas and just claim they are me. I'd pay any long distance fees. I just use my world Skype plan which is unlimited calling basically anywhere.
